How do we build the material libraries of the future? I’ve had multiple opportunities to contribute to building healthy material libraries to service designers interested in implementing healthy materials into their work. By eliminating petrochemicals, sourcing biobased inks, adhesives, and labels, and using mineral-based paints, I ensure the archive itself embodies its mission. We ran an air quality monitor through the process of renovating the library, documenting that air quality rates remained healthy throughout, aided by the use of biobased materials.
I also developed special collections tailored to NYC’s residential interior designers, textile & fashion designers, and fine artists to support their sustainable material needs.
